Assets of Global Islamic Banks to reach USD1.72t in 2013


(MENAFN) Ernst and Young (EY)'s latest World Islamic Banking Competitiveness reported that assets of global Islamic banks with commercial banks may reach USD1.72 trillion by 2014, according to Oman Observer. Global Islamic banking assets with commercial banks reached USD1.54 trillion in 2012. EY partner and Mena financial services leader Gordon Bennie said: "We believe that the future success of Islamic banks will be measured less by the growth of assets and more by the quality of this growth."
