Kuwait- Death commuted to ten years in Filipina's murder

(MENAFN- Arab Times) The Fifth Penal Section of the Appeals Court chaired by Judge Ibrahim Al-Obaid has commuted to ten years imprisonment the death sentence which had been issued against the second defendant in the murder of a Filipina. The Public Prosecution charged the first and second defendants for the premeditated murder of a Filipina when they allegedly attacked the victim physically. According to the case file, the second defendant drove the victim to a suburb where the first defendant is said to have pushed her from a moving car and the former crushing her with the car, with the intention of taking her life. Attorney of the second defendant Dr Bader Jassem contested the allegations against his client and expressed confidence in the neutrality of the court in its justice delivery, without fear or favor, stressing there was no proof supporting allegations that his client had perpetrated all acts attributed to him. He insisted all aspects of the allegations were shrouded in ambiguit.
