(MENAFN - Arab News) Interpol has identified several criminals on its wanted list currently in custody in the Kingdom's deportation centers for violating the country's labor laws, an official said on Wednesday.
"Criminals wanted by Interpol have been found among those arrested during the campaign against violators of labor and residency regulations in Makkah," said Makkah Police Director Col. Badr bin Saud Al-Saud.
Al-Saud said government agencies arrested 45,809 foreigners, including men, women and children of various nationalities, in Makkah over the past 31 days.
The government has deported more than 31,272 illegal foreigners so far from the Makkah province, he said.
He said the government prioritizes the travel documents of those who hand themselves in at the General Services Center at Shumaisi.
The state provides detainees with three meals a day, and snacks and soft drinks at reception and departure counters.
The deportees are moved from one location to another in buses. A huge laundry of 600 square meters is being used to clean the clothes of the inmates.
Director of Public Security Gen. Saeed bin Abdullah Al-Qahtani is supervising the campaign, assisted by director of Makkah police Maj. Gen. Ali Al-Ghamdi.
