Kuwait Airways signs deal for 25 Airbus jets

(MENAFN) Kuwait Airways inked a deal with Airbus for the purchase of 25 aircrafts and lease 12 others in the biggest fleet overhaul in more than two decades, The Peninsula reported. The deal comes as the carrier is planning to decommission 11 of its jets from its fleet of 17 aircrafts. Kuwait Airways said in a statement: "The company will start to receive the new planes from the second quarter of 2014." The order came after a settlement last year with Iraqi Airways that ended a 20 year dispute over damages casued by Saddam Hussein's forces during the 1990 invasion.
