(MENAFN - Arab News) Riyadh Schools, one of the capital city's leading institutions, has embarked on a SR22.5 million (6 million) upgrade of its information and communication technology infrastructure.
The school recently obtained an American Advanced Education certificate for its high teaching standards. The certificate is awarded to schools with top quality education for a period of five years.
It was established in 1970 and is now one of the largest schools in the region with about 3,500 students and 360 teachers.
Abdul Rahman Al-Ghofali, deputy director general of the school, said the accreditation recognized the institution's progress over the past three years under the guidance of the school's board, chaired by owner Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
"We are happy that Ibrahim bin Abdullah Al-Misned, director general of education for Riyadh Province, has honored us because of the quality of our education," he said.
He said the school's new upgraded technology would help students learn essential skills.
