(MENAFN - Arab News) Interaction between community institutions is vital for spreading awareness on family health and safety, said Sara Abid, head of the National Family Safety Program in the Western region.
"This interaction is pivotal in achieving success and delivering an important message to our target audience. The department of Health Affairs at the National Guard Hospital fully supports these types of awareness programs, its objectives, organization, activities and participation in delivering a safety message to the public," she said.
Abid said this during the closing ceremony of a family safety and health affairs awareness program on Saturday at Red Sea Mall and at King Abdulaziz Medical City in Jeddah.
The National Guard Hospital organized the campaign with the cooperation of the Ministry of Health and the Department of Social Service at King Abdulaziz Medical City in Jeddah under the supervision of the National Family Safety Program. The campaign aims to spread awareness on the dangers of child negligence and on protecting children from violence and abuse.
The campaign targets minors under the age of 18 years and their parents. They received education and awareness on different topics such as the prevention of burns, electrical accidents, drowning, poisoning, child safety at swimming pools and the prevention of choking.
Visitors received training and educational guidance in collaboration with the Department of Educational Guidance in Jeddah during the weeklong campaign.
