Explosion Kills or Injures 21 Afghan Police Officers in Wardak


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) At least 21 Afghan police officers were killed or injured following an explosion in central Maidan Wardak province of Afghanistan on Monday. According to local government officials, the incident took place on Monday morning in Nerkh district, leaving four police officers dead and 17 others injured Provincial governor spokesman Ataullah Khogyani confirming the report said the explosion took place near the district security commandment, according to Afghan (Khaama Press) Khogyani confirmed that four policemen were killed and 17 others were injured following the blast He also added that the death toll could rise as the health condition of a number of police officers injured in the blast is critical According to Ataullah Khogyani, the blast also incurred damage to district security compound and the surrounding properties No group including the Taliban militants has so far claimed responsibility behind the incident
