(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Figures released by the Ministry of Manpower's joint inspection team show that 420 workers were found violating the Labour Law during 43rd National Day holidays.
These include 341 commercial workers, 31 farm workers and 48 housemaids. According to the ministry, 123 workers found violating the norms were from the construction sector.
The ministry statement further said that 394 workers were rounded up. These included 161 absconding workers, 205 illegal workers and 28 transferred by other departments.
Muscat registered 195 violators, the largest among all governorates, followed by North and South Batinah with 91.
The ministry has initiated legal procedures against these workers. Meanwhile, 222 workers arrested earlier for violating the Labour Law have been deported.
