Turkey, Iraqi Kurdistan sign major energy deal


(MENAFN) The semi-autonomous region of Kurdistan in Iraq signed an energy package agreement with turkey that will help push it into becoming an oil and gas powerhouse, The Peninsula reported. "This is the most comprehensive energy deal in Turkey"s history," a source said, adding that "due to political sensitivities, both sides are taking their time to announce it." Under the agreement, Turkish Energy Company (TEC) earned the right to operate in 13 blocks in the Kurdistan region.
