Port Sudan harbor crucial for country's economy

(MENAFN) The Port-Sudan harbor is considered crucial for the country's economy, although it is facing economic challenges, Xinhua reported. The harbor in eastern Sudan is the only port through which the country ships oil, and is still used by South Sudan to export oil products after the separation. An economic expert said: "Sudan's annual exports through Port-Sudan ranges between 3.5 and 4 billion U.S. dollars, including over one billion dollars' worth of agricultural exports, while the harbor's annual imports amount to about 7.5 billion dollars."
