India's economy expands 4.8 percent


(MENAFN) India's economy in the second quarter of the fiscal year grew by an unexpected 4.8 percent, after posting a 4.4 percent growth in the quarter before it, The Peninsula reported. The growth in the country slowed down to below five percent for the fourth consecutive quarter from double-digit growth posted in the two years before. The country's agriculture output grew by 4.6 percent in the period from the same period a year ago, while the manufacturing output grew by one percent.
