New Omani movie in final stages of production

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Omani filmmaker and actor Salim Bahwan will soon give the final touches to his new feature film Once In a Life Time.

Set in the hills of Dhofar, the film tells the story of a young man from the city who visits his ancestral home in the mountains and falls in love while he is there.

Bahwan said, ''This is the third movie made by me. This time, I am not acting. I have acted in all my earlier movies but this film sees me behind the camera.''

He said that a crew of 17 technicians were hired from India for the film, and most of the actors are from Oman.

The post production work is been carried out in the studio of Sur Media Production and Distribution. ''However, I will be soon flying to India for some final touches,'' he said.

Once In a Life Time is the first film in Oman to have Jebali language in about 80 per cent of its script. ''It is a wonderful language which is spoken in the mountains and we are happy to bring out the country's culture on the silver screen. I am sure the language will be one of the main attractions of the movie. I hired two experts on the language, some researchers on the Dhofar mountains, two doctors and several assistants for the entire 30-day shoot,'' said Bahwan.

The one-hour and 20-minute film will be released in theatres and DVDs once it is send to film festivals around the world which include some big names like Berlin, Tribeca and Cannes, and also in Qatar and U
