UAE- Scad to reveal biggest statistical map on capital


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Statistics Centre Abu Dhabi, or Scad, will reveal the world's biggest map, which will be 100 metres long and four metres high, with graphical presentation of how Abu Dhabi has progressed through the last 50 years in the key socio-economic areas. The centre, which gathers statistics, hoped that the map which is one of its kinds in the world, will make through the Guineas Book of World Records. At a Press conference, held at Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, Khalid Al Hashmi executive director for strategy and policy at SCAD said that the map will highlight Abu Dhabi's growth numbers in 25 key sectors. It will focus the development of Abu Dhabi from 1960-2010, detailing the forgotten numbers for the benefit of young generation, whose grand parents had to endure severe hardship in the absence of water, electricity, roads and other basic amenities of life.The education, health, road and economic indicators would be presented in way that it would have a lasting impact on the visitors. At a specially built pavilion on the Marina Mall signal on the Corniche, the map will reveal wealth of information on Abu Dhabi.€¨
