(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Tunisia and Italy on Tuesday signed a cooperation agreement between the two countries on the regulation of seasonal migration in the sectors of agriculture and retirees.
The agreement aims to regulate the seasonal migration of labor in the agricultural sector in Tunisia to Italy, and the protection of social rights of retirees from both sides
It was signed by Tunisian General Labor Union (UGTT) assistant secretary general and a representative of the Italian General Confederation of Labor
The Tunisian official said he expects the agreement to limit the risks of irregular migration to Italy, and the consequent risk to the immigrants, as well as the organization of the process of labor migration in the agricultural sector
He noted that five offices will be opened for this purpose in both countries. "
