Kuwait, Hong Kong Seek To Boost Business Cooperation


(MENAFN- Arab Times) The Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) on Nov 25 hosted at its headquarters in downtown Kuwait City the visiting Hong Kong Middle East Chamber of Businessmen Limited headed by Executive Councilor Azmat M. Moosdeen. In his welcome address Hussain Ali Al-Kharafi, board member of the KCCI said he hopes today's meeting between both sides will be more fruitful for both sides and push forward business relations. He added, since 2004 there has been continuous communications between both sides and "we have been practically meeting each year until Sept 2013. This is our eleventh meeting but looking at the trade figures it is too low compared to the efforts made by us." He added, the KCCI is looking forward to see how this trade relationship can be boosted since there are a lot of opportunities, development projects and better environment available in Kuwait and also a lot of money 'for a very short period' for about four to five years. Moosdeen in his remarks said the delegation will try to find ways to promote and foster relationships and business cooperation between Kuwait and Hong Kong and more importantly China. He spoke of the possibilities, openings and potentials for conducting business between both sides and take part in joint ventures by Chinese companies in Kuwait and vice-versa. He said the delegation he is heading comprises experts in their respective fields and that they are in Kuwait to give the "best flavor and the best idea to further the business relations." Moosdeen went to say "The Chamber strives to serve as a bridge and connect Middle East and Chinese businessmen through our platform for better understanding, connection and business venturing. Being a professional Chamber, we are here to promote business cooperation and joint ventures." The delegation members then gave an insight into their products, services and investment opportunities in Hong Kong and China and ways to promote and support joint economic and trade relations in several fields as well as facilities that can be granted to businessmen to open new investment prospects between the two sides This included financial and investment opportunities between sides, wealth management, construction, manufacturing - garment, shoes, clothing, furniture, etc and other customized items of exceptional quality "to match your different requirements" at very affordable prices. Moosdeen added the Hong Kong Middle East Chamber Businessmen Delegation Limited has the support of the Hong Kong Trade and Development Council, a body recognized by the Hong Kong Commerce and Trade Department. He summed up saying the main purpose of the delegation visit to Kuwait was to provide infrastructure and affordable housing, investment bridging and trade finance. The Hong Kong Middle East Chamber of Businessmen Limited ('Chamber') was established in Hong Kong and registered with the Hong Kong Government Companies Registry by Guarantee as a non-profit making organization. The Chamber is a leading organization in Hong Kong to promote commercial ties amongst businessmen between Hong Kong, Mainland China with the Middle East Countries.
