Samsung to pay Apple USD290 m on copying features

(MENAFN) US-based Apple will gain another USD290 million from the damages Samsung Electronics caused by copying vital iPhone and iPad features, according to Khaleej Times. Samsung, the South Korean technology giant, will pay a total of USD930 million to Apple, as a jury judged. The verdict includes 13 older Samsung devices among 26 Samsung products that imitate Apple's patents. Samsung said it only owed USD52 million of the copying cost's sales, claiming that sales of its devices were not only because of the features they included. Meanwhile, Apple has asked for USD380 million as Samsung sold a huge number of devices included the copied features.
