Kuwait's /KISR/, India's CSIR Sign Two Memos For Scientific Cooperation


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) has signed two memoranda of understanding with Indian Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) for cooperation in the scientific domain. KISR's Executive Commissioner for International Cooperation in Asia, Europe and Africa Dr. Nader Al-Awadhi said in a statement, delivered to KUNA on Saturday, that the MoU aims at swapping experts, scientists, researchers, organizing joint scientific activities such as conventions and training courses The other MoU, signed by KISR and Indian Ministry of Sciences and Technology, stipulates scientific and technical cooperation between the two sides, Dr. Al-Awadhi said Dr. Al-Awadhi was speaking on occasion of India's hosting of the Global Innovation Roundtable convention, held November 18-19 On sidelines of the scientific event, the KISR officials visited research and technological institutions in New Delhi and the city of Bangalore, located 1,500 km south of the capital Dr. Al-Mutairi and Dr. Al-Awadhi examined technologies for oil and petrochemical production, remote sensing systems, space researches, solar technology and digital systems As to KISR's participation in the roundtable convention, Dr. Al-Mutairi said it was in line with new plans to dedicate particular attention to Asian nations for scientific and technological cooperation KISR's "transformation strategy" which is valid till 2030 is particularly aimed at establishing news alliances and launching mega joint ventures with major scientific and research centers, namely Asian institutions, he said The conference was held a few days after His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah paid a landmark visit to the Asian nation that concluded with declarations from the two sides asserting common desire to promote further the historic Indian-Kuwaiti relations Elaborating on the conference, Dr. Al-Mutairi said the topics dealt with challenges in face of development, ecological systems, social impact of innovation, role of the media, technological and communication systems
