Canada to increase agri-food exports to China

(MENAFN) Canada is planning to invest up to USD4 million annually for five years to fund the growing exports of agri-food products to China, Xinhua reported. Since China is the fastest growing market for Canada's agri-food products, the country decided to increase its exports to the Chinese market. The Canadian minister of national revenue said that the North American nation's exports to China increased 20 percent annually. A trial agreement between the two countries opened up the Chinese market for fresh cherries from Canada. Also, Canada hopes to secure an agreement to export blueberries to China.
