Economic Airlines to grow in Middle East

(MENAFN) Economic Airlines, or low-coast airlines, are expected to see a significant growth in the Middle East as their capacity has increased to 13.5 million seats in the first six months of the current year, according to Arab News. "We are seeing a boom in the capacity of low-cost airlines throughout Asia as the air travel sector is suffering from a big gap. However, the capacity across developed markets in Europe and North America is restricted," said Alexander Gore, an economic airlines specialist at Amadeus. He added: "With the 25 percent growth on an annual basis during the first half of 2013, airline reservations for low-cost airlines at Amadeus are increasing dramatically, which is an encouraging sign of our ability to adapt to the needs of these airlines."
