Kuwait- Youths Attack Police Patrol, Free Arrested Friend


(MENAFN- Arab Times) Following the recent incident in which a lieutenant was beaten by the friends of a reckless motorist in Qusour area when they prevented patrol officers from arresting him, several other youths on Thursday assaulted some security operatives in Al-Qasser. Apparently, patrol officers rushed to Al-Qasser area in Jahra governorate and arrested a youth who was performing stunts with a Nissan GT in the presence of a large audience. The youth was held in a patrol vehicle, and before driving off, the friends of the detainee attacked the officers and forced the door of the patrol car open to free their friend. They all managed to flee the scene after the incident. Security sources noted the youths threw stones at the patrol vehicle while they were running away and smashed the glass, injuring one patrolman. One of the suspects is said to have been holding a machete. Investigation is ongoing to arrest the suspect and his friends
