(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC) on Wednesday signed 13 agreements worth over RO536mn for Packages Four to Six of the Batinah Expressway project, for consultancy and construction of new roads, and the Batinah dual road project.
H E Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Salim al Futaisi, Minister of Transport and Communications signed the agreements with representatives of various companies.
Addressing the media later, H E Dr Futaisi said that these projects will be a great addition to the country's road network, and once complete, will improve transport and reduce accidents.
"The most important of these agreements are those for the Batinah Expressway, a vital project that will open economic visions. The expressway will provide huge investment opportunities to SMEs. We want people to benefit from this project,'' he added.
