New Zealand, Chinese Taipei trade agreement to commence next month


(MENAFN) The Economic Cooperation Agreement between New Zealand and the Separate Customs Territory of China's Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen and Matsu (Chinese Taipei) will go into effect at the beginning of next month, Xinhuanet reported. The New Zealand Trade Minister stated that the agreement offers a full removal of tariffs on 99 percent of New Zealand's exports to Chinese Taipei and up to 100 percent in 12 years. The minister said: "New Zealand exporters will benefit immediately from preferential tariff access, giving them a key competitive advantage in an important and affluent market of 23 million people."
