Jordan and Germany Sign Financial and Technical Cooperation Agreements


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Jordan and Germany signed here today two financial and Technical cooperation agreements to support a number of development projects funded by the German government in the framework of the development cooperation between the two countries for the years ( 2011-2012 ) . The agreements were signed by the Jordanian Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Ibrahim Saif and the German ambassador to Amman Ralph Tarraf in the presence of representatives of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the German Reconstruction Bank Under the financial cooperation agreement the German government will provide assistance to Jordan totaling EUR26..4 million of 2011, of which EUR20 million in soft loans and EUR 6.4 million grants for projects in the areas of water and sanitation and the climate change which will be implemented by the German Reconstruction Bank Under the technical cooperation agreement northing EUR 14.8 million are going to be spent on projects of water, sanitation and climate change , which will be implemented by GIZ in 2012
