Gulf carriers order planes for USD150 b in Dubai Airshow


(MENAFN) Carriers from the Gulf placed orders worth USD150 billion on the first day of the Dubai Airshow, Times of Oman reported. The volume of the orders shows a shift in power in the industry and gives a push to the launch of Boeing's newest jet, as well as Airbus's A380 superjumbo. Emirates Airlines placed orders for 150 of Boeing's new 777 mini-jumbo for USD76 billion. The carrier also ordered 50 Airbus A380s at USD23 billion making the biggest buyer in the Airshow.
