(MENAFN) The UAE is due to spend USD329 billion on delivering major construction programs by 2030, according to EC Harris's latest study: "Middle East major construction programs? mitigating the risk", according to Times of Oman. These construction programs, defined as programs worth more than USD1billion and being delivered over a relatively short period of time, are in the peak in the UAE by 2016 with USD40.4 billion due to be delivered. With other Middle East countries undertaking their own programs, the report highlights the potential squeeze on labor and material resources which could impact delivery. Across the Middle East, the report found that in excess of 117 major programs are planned for completion by 2030 costing more than USD1 trillion. The programs incorporate major infrastructure, energy, property and transportation projects.
