Jordan's Expatriate Remittances Up 3.2%


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Remittances by expatriates to Jordan recorded an increase by 3.2% cent at the end of October, according to data released by the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ). A CBJ said expatriates' remittances totalled US $3.07 Billion at the end of October this year compared with around $2.68 Billion at the end of the same period of 2012 In October, expatriates' remittances rose by 4.8% to around $297.6 Million that is an equivalent of around JD211 Million Remittances by expatriates and income from tourism constitutes a significant portion of Jordan's current account which has shown a positive improvement this year.
