Noted US investor to give talk on entrepreneurship in Oman

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) The US Embassy and the Oman American Business Council (OABC) have invited American entrepreneur Warren Struhl as guest speaker at the launch of OABC's Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Mentoring Initiative at Grand Hyatt Muscat on November 20.

A press release said that Struhl was the keynote speaker at the inaugural Oman Business Road Show  to the US which was led by H E Eng Ali bin Masoud bin Ali al Sunaidy, Minister of Commerce and Industry, H E Hunaina al Mughairy, Omani Ambassador to the US, and H E Greta C Holtz, US Ambassador to Oman.

Struhl will address an audience of Omani entrepreneurs and stakeholders, share real-life experiences and speak on the challenges, risks, and rewards of starting up new businesses.

The event will also see the presence of several senior executives from Omani and American companies, who have agreed to serve as mentors of select Omani entrepreneurs as a part of a year-long OABC programme.

Struhl is the founder of Polaroid Fotobooth, a new concept that permits people to quickly and easily print images from their smartphones, the release said.

Struhl is the first of the several US investors invited to Oman after the road show to explore Oman's potential as a strategic location with its state-of-the-art infrastructure and attractive benefits offered by the US-Oman Free Trade Agreement.

H E Greta said that Struhl's visit and the response received from other US businesses in the logistics, manufacturing, rail, and healthcare sectors shows the strong impact made by the road show as well as the deepening of ties between the US and Oman.
