Abu Dhabi Racing Forms Partnership with Kaspersky Lab


(MENAFNEditorial) Abu Dhabi Racing has reinforced its strategy to create more opportunities for young Emiratis as professional rally and racing drivers by entering into a partnership agreement with Kaspersky Lab, one of the world's fastest-growing IT security vendors. The new agreement will help fund the growing competitive programme being undertaken by Abu Dhabi Racing, which has been working on a number of initiatives to bolster the emirate's presence in global motorsport since being established a year ago. It means the familiar Kaspersky Lab branding, which has appeared on Ferrari's F1 cars for three consecutive seasons, will now be carried by Abu Dhabi Racing into competitive action in the FIA Middle East Rally Championship and at some of the world's top circuit racing events. "We are very pleased to have formed a working partnership with Kaspersky Lab, a name which is familiar to motor sport lovers around the world because of the company's association with Ferrari," said Sheikh Khalid Al Qassimi, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Racing. "Since we launched at the end of last year, we have been working to secure additional, strategic partnerships to promote the destination of Abu Dhabi, and provide the next crop of UAE National motor sport drivers with feasible options to compete professionally. This is another important step towards achieving our objectives." Abu Dhabi Racing marked its competitive debut in January at the Qatar International Rally, as Al Qassimi led a five-car team featuring four young Emirati drivers into action. in the opening round of the 2013 FIA Middle East Rally Championship. The Kaspersky Lab branding, which will appear on Abu Dhabi Racing cars during next year's Middle East series, also extends to the race programme of Al Qubaisi who will carry it into action for the first time in next month's Gulf 12 Hours endurance race at Yas Marina Circuit Al Qubaisi became the first Emirati driver to compete in the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans in June, and also contested this year's renowned Nurburgring 24 Hours in Germany.
