(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) The Nigerian military said troops have killed about 29 suspected Boko Haram militants in military operation in north-east of the country.
The Nigerian military said in a statement that an air strike targeted a Boko Haram base in the town of Bita near the Cameroonian border where the Boko Haram group set up a checkpoint after being expelled from semi-desert regions located to the north
One soldier was killed and three others were injured during the operation
The United States named Boko Haram as a foreign terrorist organization as it was responsible for thousands of deaths in northeast and central Nigeria in recent years.
