Security Tension Rises in Lebanon's Tripoli


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Tension has reportedly risen in al-Arid Marketplace in Labanon's Tripoli, with continued fire exchange between Lebanese security forces and gunmen. The gunmen threw several hand grenades within the market vicinity, Labanon's National News Agency (NNA) reported late Saturday However, there have been no reported casualties as a result of said clashes Earlier, the NNA reported that shooting was heard in the area of "Old Serail" in Tripoli due to a clash between an Internal Security Forces' checkpoint and a group of armed militants Caretaker Minister of Interior and Municipalities Marwan Charbel arrived Saturday at the Serail in Tripoli to hold a closed security meeting with top security officials to discuss the second phase of the security plan tailored for the northern city
