(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) The 17th international roads conference and exhibition, hosted by the Saudi Ministry of Transport in collaboration with the International Federation for Roads concluded here last night.
During the five-day event, a number of 300 scientific papers were discussed by delegates from 92 countries, including 15 ministers and deputy ministers as well as 2500 high-ranking officials, specialists and experts and interested in the work of roads in more than 100 countries of the world.
They discussed how best to present fresh solutions to problems related to the road and transport sector , road safety, materials paving and sustainable transport, mobility, integrated intelligent transportation systems, secure transport, and disaster mitigation and recovery.
The participants also discussed asset management, construction and operation of roads, tunnels and partnership between the public and private sectors in financing urban transport and public transport.
