US initial jobless claims drop another week


(MENAFN) The number of US citizens initially applying for unemployment benefits went down for the fifth consecutive week, but remained above the pre-shutdown level, Xinhuanet reported. The figure of seasonally adjusted initial claims for jobless benefits went down to 339,000 in the week ending November 9, down by 2,000 from the figure in the weekbefore it. The weekly applications for unemployment aid were little above 300,000 prior to the shutdown.
