MENA region's demand on power to grow 7 percent annually


(MENAFN) MENA region saw a growing demand on power, and is expected to keep boosting over the following ten years by 7 percent annually, according to Arab News. Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) reported that factors, such as the growing number of population, economic development and industrialization, were the reason behind the growing demand on power. Anita Mathews, director of Informa Energy Group, organizers of Middle East Electricity, said: "One of the key drivers of the surging power demand in the MENA region is due to rapid population growth."
