Royal Oman Police announces new text alert service

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) In a move to commemorate the 43rd National Day, ROP has announced that it will launch a text alert service through subscription for individuals and commercial organisations.

Subscribers will receive updates on a host of services, including traffic offences, ID and residence card expiry, passports expiry, visa expiry, driving licence expiry, vehicle registration expiry, and visa application status.

Providing details of the service, ROP announced on Tuesday that the service is available for a fee of RO1 for six months - an automated renewal message will be sent at the end of each term.

While individual subscribers can receive unlimited text alerts, those for commercial establishments have been capped at 50. They will receive an alert when they are close to reaching their monthly limit.

HOW TO SUBSCRIBE

• Individuals can subscribe by texting 'R (their civil/residence card number)' to 90085.

• For information on commercial organisations, type 'CR (the organisation's CR number)' and send it to 90085.<
