Housing finance up 4.4 percent in Australia


(MENAFN) Figures by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) revealed that owner-occupied home loans in Australia went up 4.4 percent in September, Xinhuanet reported. In the month, the number of owner-occupied housing finance commitments went from 49,733 in August to 51,928 in September. An associate economist at the Commonwealth Bank said: "Even though we might get some volatility month by month, the overall trend has been quite a sustained upturn in housing activity."
