(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) The Belgian Foreign Ministry Saturday announced that it has enhanced the status of the Palestinian General Delegation to Belgium, Luxembourg and the European Union.
From today, it will be called "Mission of Palestine" and the Head of Mission now has the title of Ambassador, said the ministry in a statement
During his recent visit to Brussels, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas accepted the proposal, presented on behalf of the Belgian Government by Foreign Minister Didier Reynders to raise the status of the Palestinian mission
"This enhancement reflects the Belgian and European support for the two-state solution
It also stems from the process of state formation that determines the international organizations," added the statement.
