Russian, Turkish Foreign Ministers Discuss Geneva II Peace Conference


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov had a telephone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Ahmet Davutoglu on Saturday to discuss the soonest convocation of the Geneva II Peace Conference with the participation of the Syrian authorities and the opposition, according to Itar-Tass news agency The foreign ministers of both countries "discussed bilateral relations within preparations for the 4th session of the Russian-Turkish High Level Cooperation Council", the Russian Foreign Ministry reported "Sergei Lavrov and Ahmed Davutoglu exchanged views on the situation in Syria," the ministry said "The foreign ministers stressed the need to join efforts aimed at convening the conference on Syria [Geneva II] as soon as possible," the ministry said.
