Dubai International Motor Show ends on high note

KT Photos by Grace GuinoThe Dubai International Motor Show ended on a high note on Saturday, with tens of thousands of visitors thronging the halls at the Dubai World Trade Centre to see the more than 600 vehicles on display for the last time. The latest models from the world's top automotive manufacturers included more than 100 vehicles never before seen in the region and unveiled for the first time in the world. Joseph Babu, accompanied by his family, said: "This year's show has been the most amazing one. We have been coming to the Dubai Motor Show since 2009 and every year it is more exciting. What will we see in 2015?" The Mercedes Benz stall, featuring a host of new models. An Emirati visitor, who preferred not to be named, revealed his serious interest in the new Jaguar concept car and confirmed that he had offered to buy it. A Mitsubishi Pajero on display at the Japanese carmaker's stand. Hani Hayek, a visitor from Lebanon said: "I always come to Dubai for the motor show. This year having the added attraction of the Dubai Grand Parade and then the Red Bull Drift Championship made this a very worthwhile visit."
