Discover Oman pavilion in France a success

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) The 'Discover Oman' exhibition pavilion attracted a large number of visitors last week at Le Havre in France from where the Transat Jacques Vabre race started. Thousands visited the venue to learn more about the country and what it has to offer.

Ghaniya al Maawali, who has been operating the exhibition and leading the marketing team on site from Oman, supported by staff of Oman's Ministry of Tourism (MoT) office in Paris, said, ''We had a high visitor turnout.'' The exhibition was in France with the Oman Air-Musandam Multi One Design 70 trimaran. It travelled to the UK and France with the trimaran in the last two racing seasons too.

''At previous events, henna, coffee and dates were the main attraction, but this time, many information packs about the country were distributed and many visitors raised questions on the attractions in the country and what to do while there. The exhibition also raised awareness on Oman Air and direct flights from Paris to Muscat,'' Maawali said.

The footfall at the tent is estimated at over 10,000. The ten-member team of Discover Oman distributed 5kg of Omani dates, almost 1,000 brochures about the country, 5,000 info packs and goody bags of promotional material, around 5,000 Oman Air-Musandam posters, 500 caps to children and used up to 50 henna cones.

H E Maitha al Mahrouqi, Undersecretary in MoT and chairperson of Oman Sail,  travelled from Oman to visit the team and present the sultanate's flag to the Oman Air-Musandam crew and wish them safe passage and fair winds.<
