UAE- Cop accused of forging sick leave papers


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) A policeman, who allegedly added false details in three sick leave certificates and extended their duration, has been charged with forgery. The 24-year-old Emirati policeman is believed to have extended the sick leave duration in two forms issued by the Dubai Healthcare City and one issued from a clinic. He allegedly used the forged sick leave certificates by submitting them to the Dubai Police. In the Court of First Instance, he faced charges of forgery and use of forged official and unofficial documents. A police officer, who wrote down the statement of the accused, quoted him as admitting that he falsified the sick leave documents by extending the duration from one day to two days or more at his home in Al Muhaisna 3. The alleged forgery came to light in September last year. According to the crime lab report, three sick leaves certificates submitted by the accused were forged.- mary@khaleejtimes.com
