U.S. shares opened higher with the beginning of the week ahead of important U.S. data this week, amid earnings announcement.

After the Fed announcement last week that they would keep stimulus until recovery shows clearer signs, the focus will turn to U.S. third-quarter GDP and payrolls data.

The U.S. economy may have grew an annualized 2 percent in the quarter through June, following a 2.5 percent expansion in second quarter.

Another report may show that payrolls soared by 125,000 workers last month after a 148,000 gain in September.

As of 09:47 EST, Dow Jones rose 0.21% to 15648.07 points, and NASDAQ edged up 0.11% to 3926.17 points.

Standard and Poor’s surged 0.32% to reach 1764.24 points, as of 09:32 EST.
