Brazil trade deficit hits USD224 m in Oct.


(MENAFN) Brazil's trade deficit last month was at USD224 million, representing the highest monthly figure in 13 years, Xinhuanet reported. Exports last month came at a total of USD22.82 billion increasing by 0.3 percent from the corresponding month last year, while imports went up 9.6 percent to USD23.04 billion. The country's trade deficit in the ten months to the end of October was USD1.8 billion, which is the highest in 15 years. During that ten-month period, exports went down 1.9 percent and imports were up 7.5 percent from the prior-year period.
