Oman goes down fighting


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Oman went down fighting to Malaysia 3-5 in its second match at the Asian Champions Trophy at Kakamigahara, Japan, on Sunday. 

Malaysia opened the scoring in the second minute through Mohammed Jalil. Oman's Khalid al Shaaibi then equalised in the 12th minute before Mohammed al Shar put Oman ahead in the 24th minute.

But the lead was short-lived as Malaysia's Fazial Saari scored two goals before the half-time whistle to make it 3-2.

Oman's Mohammed Bait Awadh scored in the 48th minute to make it 3-3. But Malaysia's Saari added two more goals, in the 62nd and 70th minutes, to take the match away from Oman.
