(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Omantel recently completed an important part of its 3.5G network modernisation project with the completion of build out and expansion of more than 180 sites in the Batinah governorate. The project has been implemented following the provisioning of more spectrums that enabled Omantel to introduce second carrier on 3.5G network.
Adding additional carrier on 3.5G will contribute significantly to enhancing the customer experience especially for using the mobile broadband services. Haitham Abdullah al Kharusi, vice president, Omantel Consumer Business Unit, said that the company has completed the build out and installation of more than 180 3.5G stations in Batinah governorate, which experienced network congestion previously. This is part of a major project for the modernisation of the company's 3.5G as Omantel strives to provide its customers with the best broadband experience through the widest coverage, broadest choice and superior quality.
Kharusi added, ''At the same time, our teams are in race with time for the fast roll-out of our 4G LTE network which has the widest 4G coverage in the sultanate as the company completed the installation of more than 460 base stations.'' Plans are underway to cover more governorates in the near future which is part of Omantel plans to offer customers the best broadband experience.''
