Three dead in Sur collision Omani among 2 hurt


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Three persons were killed on the spot and two others, including an Omani, were injured, in a collision in Sur on Saturday morning. The dead, all hailing from the Indian state of Kerala, were returning to Muscat from Sur. 

The accident happened at Galeela when the saloon car the Indians were in collided with a pick up van. Two passengers of the car and its driver died on the spot while one passenger was injured. The driver of van, an Omani was also injured and is said to be in a critical condition in Sur Hospital. The injured Indian is reported to be out of danger.

Shibu Samuel, one of the dead, had taken his friend Ani Joy, who was on a visit to Oman, to meet his family in Sur. The driver of the car who also died has been identified as Finsar Olavathur. Their bodies have been kept at the Sur Hospital mortuary. An ROP official confirmed the accident and the deaths of the three expatriates.
