(MENAFN) Romania made USD534 million through a stock offering of a 15-percent stake in Romgaz, the biggest natural gas producer in Central Europe, The Peninsula Qatar reported.
An official at the energy ministry said: "This is a major moment in the history of Romania"s capital market, the beginning of a new chapter in the development of the stock exchange."
An initial public offering on the Bucharest and London stock exchanges was launched by the country in an attempt to raise between USD 425 million and USD567 million.
