(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Dr Rashid Ahmad Bin Fahd, the UAE Minister of Environment and Water, has issued a ministerial decision banning the import of all kinds of live birds from Australia, till the epidemic status of the bird flu infection would be changed.
The ban covered domestic, wild and ornamental birds, in addition to their products.
The ministry issued the decision after receiving information from the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE), which indicated that a case of bird flu infection has been reported in Australia.(QNA)
This comes within the framework of the ministrys keenness to achieve its strategic objectives with respect to its contribution to the promotion of food security and the preservation of public health, where all inbound consignments are subject to the laws and decisions of the veterinary quarantine in force in the state.
