India increases oil imports from Iran

(MENAFN) Though the US has set engineered embargoes against the Islamic Republic's oil and financial sectors, India's oil imports from Iran significantly increased last month, according to Tehran Times. Reports show that India imported 296.000 barrels per day from Iran in September compared to 151.000 barrels per day a month earlier. India is considered as one of Asia's major importers of energy, and highly depends on Iran's oil to cover its energy demand.
