2 Omani students out for a swim drown in Rustaq wadi


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Two Omani youths who were out for a swim, drowned in Wadi al Hoqain of Rustaq at spot near Tawi al Bado area on Wednesday afternoon. Both were students of the Rustaq College of Applied Sciences.

ROP officials in South Batinah stated that one of the victims was 19 years old and a resident of Rustaq while the other, an 18 year old resident of Ibri.

''More than one drowning incident has taken place at that particular spot,'' an ROP official from South Batinah Police Command said.

According to an official from the Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulance (PACDA), the incident took place at around 4pm.

''Citizens helped retrieve the bodies which were taken by PACDA to the nearest health centre,'' the official said.<
