(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) HE Ahmed Bin Mohammed bin Salim al Futasi, Minister of Transport and Communication, recently inaugurated Oman Airports Management Company's (OAMC) new website at the first Oman Airport Awards announced held recently at Shangri-La's Barr al Jissah Resort & Spa, Muscat.
The new website not only offers a brand new look and feel but also provides comprehensive airport information with a refreshed airline and passenger journey information, allowing customers a quick and easy interaction with the airport for all their personal travel needs and information. The site was designed to include Muscat and Salalah airports, according to the services provided with the ability to expansion to include all airports operated by Oman Airports Management. The overall design and colours was extracted to reflect the company's future vision with consideration Omani heritage and beauty on welcoming the visitors. Also, the Islamic culture was taking into account through Islamic Arabic inscriptions which adds a distinctive aesthetic character to emerge.
The distribution of website contents and services was designed to be fast and easy access through a single click or twice maximum. The new website is adapted to different browsers and can deal with different operating systems. Dr Moaman al Busaidy, ICT general manager, said, ''The website is designed to target four main categories (passengers‘ arrivals and departures, commercial customers, OAMC staff and the fourth category includes all interested researchers and others. Passengers are the main target group and they representing 55 per cent of the content and services provided whereas commercial customers accounted for 25 per cent.
The balance 25 per cent of the content were divided between employees and guest researchers and others browsing through the website.'' The site contains an integrated system that allows the company to control the contents uploaded and downloaded from the site. It also provides statistics and data on several types about the visitors and their interests, which will facilitate the process of selecting content to the end user.
The site also contains various social media outlets and feedback window that will allow the visitor to suggest constructive ideas. ''We are delighted with the new website. It reflects our customer centric approach to always serve customers in the best way. ''This website was redesigned with the customer's needs at the top and our main objective is to provide users with the best online experience. We are confident that our customers and users will like the new website and they will find it very convenient and 24x7 available way to manage their airport and travel requirements,'' said Dr Busaid
